Knowing what my Mom had to deal with is what amazes me even more about my own Proverbs 31 woman, my beautiful bride, my queen, my Amanda.

Amanda is far more precious than jewels.
My heart trusts in her,
and I will have no lack of gain.
Amanda does me good, and not harm,
all the days of her life.
She seeks organic groceries,
and works with willing hands.
Amanda is like the ships from the farmer's market;
she brings her food from afar.
She stays up late into the night
and provides food for her family
and lesson plans for her children.
Amanda considers resources needed to teach our children and buys it;
with the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard of knowledge.
She dresses herself with strength
and makes her arms strong.
Amanda perceives that her family is priceless.
Her lamp does not go out at night.
She puts her hands to the weeds,
and her hands hold the seeds.
Amanda opens her hand to the poor
and reaches out her hands to the needy.
She is not afraid of the sun for her family,
for all her children are coated in sun screen.
Amanda makes her family's home her joy;
her prayers covering each one.
I am proud when I sit among my friends
and speak of her amazing ways.
Amanda teaches our children, she manages or home;
she suffers the emotionless husband with patience and love.
Strength and dignity are her clothing,
and she laughs at the time to come.
Amanda opens her mouth with wisdom,
and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.
She looks well to the ways of her household
and does not watch Oprah.
Her children rise up and call

I rise up and praise God for her:
"Many women may do excellently,
but the wife you have given me surpasses them all."
Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain,
but my woman fears the LORD and is to be praised.
Lord, give her of the fruit of her hands,
and let her works praise her to Your glory.

Yes, Proverbs 31 was specifically written as a tribute to mothers of all time. A mother's love which is unconditional reminds us of God's unconditional love for all of us when He gave His only begotten Son to die in our place when we still sinners. We only realize the full value of our mothers when they are already gone and we terribly miss all the things she used to do for us. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to you. Thanks for the post. God bless you always.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read Proverbs 31 yet , and I'm glad I learned about it here. A mother's love is pure and unconditional. You can see how great a mother's love from the birth of her child up to the her last day on earth. She won't mind putting herself at risk, bearing all the pain just to let us see the world.
ReplyDeleteWe are all lucky to have a mom.
